Custom-built floating swim rafts for cottage families who want a safe, stable place to swim, sun, fish and jump from. Every swim raft is designed for your lake, your shoreline and your water levels, built in our Parry Sound shop, and installed by our own crew.
A swim raft in Muskoka has a harder job than a swim raft almost anywhere else. It has to ride out spring surge, take a beating from wind and wake all summer, and either survive the ice or come out before it forms. We build rafts the same way we build our floating docks: heavy-duty Canadian-made HDPE floats that are virtually unsinkable, galvanized hardware, and a frame sized for the exposure of your site. A raft on a sheltered bay on Lake Rosseau and a raft off an open point on Georgian Bay are not the same raft, and we do not build them the same way.
Our most popular family swim raft is 10 x 10 feet. Bigger rafts are more stable but harder to move and remove; we will help you find the right balance for how your family will use it. Placement matters as much as size. We look at water depth at both low and high levels, prevailing wind, boat traffic, and how far the raft sits from your dock or shore before we recommend a location and an anchoring setup. Our Muskoka water level guide explains why seasonal swing matters so much for anything that floats.
A raft that drifts is a hazard. We anchor every swim raft for the conditions at your site, with heavy anchors, properly sized chain and enough scope to handle the seasonal change in water level. On exposed sites we will often recommend a two- or three-point anchor system so the raft stays put in a blow.
We install rafts in spring and remove them in fall as part of our dock maintenance service, or we can set you up to handle it yourself. Ask about adding your raft to your seasonal dock in-and-out schedule.
All floats carry a 25-year warranty. Framing and hardware are galvanized or marine-grade aluminum. Decking is Canadian-sourced. We build for the long haul because a swim raft is where the memories happen, and nobody wants to replace it in five years.
